about

Hi! My name is Ava Grace and I am in 11th grade attending Lacordaire Highschool. I am Ghanaian and Armenian and I plan on using this page to bring more awareness to diversity issues, accomplishments, and stereotypes. Growing up as a person, more specifically a woman, of color comes with its ups and downs. It’s worse feeling alone and different rather than being a part of a shared community with shared experiences. I believe that openly having discussions that need to be shared only empowers and strengthens the education of those who may not go through these things.

I was a contestant in the Miss Teen New Jersey Pageant in March of 2023 and it inspired me to create this blog about something I am passionate about! I think inclusivity is a big part of progression in the world today and the more effort we make towards change, the more change will be done.

“The path to diversity begins with supporting, mentoring, and sponsoring diverse women and men to become leaders and entrepreneurs.”

– Denise Morrison

An important role in my education includes learning about cultural histories and the impacts they leave on us each and every day. I want to share my voice and leave a platform where we can come together to feel connected as a community.

Thank you to everyone who visits my page, it means a lot to me, and I would love feedback/questions on any of my socials!
